Daniel Uusitalo is a venture capitalist at 4impact capital, where he invests in early-stage European software companies across the Nordics, DACH and Benelux. Born in Finland and based in The Hague, he is a Climate Reality Leader and writes about start-ups, artificial intelligence and climate tech.
Pre-seed to Series A, with a focus on energy and climate tech. The working thesis: the next generation of European category winners will be impact companies by default, not by label. Finding them early is the job. Writing about it keeps me honest.
I spend a lot of time in the Nordics, where I think founders have historically been too humble about what they're building. I write and speak about that, along with energy tech, European competitiveness, and what it takes to raise capital as an early-stage founder.
Off the clock: public equities, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, reading, ice bathing, and building side projects.
I believe the best companies of the next decade will be built by founders who treat impact as an engineering constraint, not a marketing label. Europe has the talent, the regulation, and the market pull. What it needs is less hesitation and more conviction. I want to find those founders early, back them properly, and write about the patterns I see along the way.

Autonomous social media engine for small businesses, live for a chiropractic studio group in the Netherlands. Publishes on a schedule to Instagram, Facebook and two Google Business listings, behind a compliance linter and a human veto window in Notion. Four analytics feeds fold into one KPI contract that re-weights the next cycle. Over a thousand tests, runs unattended.
Equity Cockpit
Personal portfolio monitor that opens on the book rather than on a ticker: an allocation treemap, sector and geography exposure computed through the funds rather than around them, concentration, and a reporting calendar. Joins a broker export, live market prices and a written decision log, then reports only where the three disagree. It never suggests a trade.

The page you're reading. One hand-written HTML file plus four companion pages, no framework and no bundler. A cursor-reactive dot field, film negatives, a live commit log, a contribution heatmap that re-snapshots itself, and crawlable archives generated from the same arrays that render this page.

Chrome extension that hides the ads your ad blocker misses: the sponsored posts and promoted results woven into the feed itself, which look like content because they are built like content. Per-site adapters find each post unit in the live DOM, read its visible label, and hide it in place without deleting anything, inside a strict per-batch time budget so scrolling never stutters. Plain-English mute rules on top. No backend, no remote code, no analytics.
